I have 2 Pro6's that randomly both get stuck on night mode in the morning.

Rebooting them or toggling night vision fixes it.

Anyone else having this issue?

Hi @GeneralMeow

Would you mind sharing your schedule or rule setup That's triggering all of this? And I'll see if I can reproduce myself.

Thanks!

I don't have any rules or schedules active due to other reasons like Geo fencing killing my battery.

I leave it on Home mode, but cameras are active all the time.

They go into night mode fine, but sometimes (more often than not) when daytime/morning comes, one of the 2 stays in night mode and everything is white-ish.  Both Pro6 cameras have done it, so I don't believe its a hardware issue.

If you move one camera to another location where the ambient light is brighter, does that help? You can swap cameras around if you have more than just the 2 Pro 6 cameras.

Usually if a camera would do that I would wait an hour when it got brighter and it would sort itself out.  Not the Pro6, as I waited hours into the afternoon and had to "fix" it.  I vaguely remember long ago one of the older Pro models had this issue and a code update fixed it.

It gets pretty bright mid-morning and I have 1 Pro6 at each end of the house with different brightness patterns.  Both do it.

I used to have Pro4s, then Pro5s on the same magnetic mount.  The Pro5s had other issues like pixelation that seemed to have gotten fixed in later code updates, but didn't have night mode transition issues.

@GeneralMeow And you always have Night vision toggled ON > And Color selected correct?

Also, are these devices positioned near any  reflective surface (window, metal) that may confuse the light sensor?

Night vision is toggled ON > Black & White selected

Only thing reflective is snow on the ground and the camera is 15ish feet in the air, not pointing straight down.

And when it's stuck in this black and white mode, is it for all the recordings or when live streaming or both?

for both streaming and recordings.

@GeneralMeow

Thanks for all the feedback. I wasn't able to reproduce this symptom as described with my testing. I have escalated this for you, and support will be reaching out as soon as possible.

its funny, the cameras haven't did it since i posted.  It used to happen every day on at least one of them.

So maybe indeed it was the snow, and we had lots of it.  It's melting so I assume its not messing with the IR filter as much anymore.

Considering case closed unless I can reliably reproduce it.  I let support know as well.

thanx for the help.

Same problem on all 3 of my Pro 6 cameras. Very frustrating. My Pro 5 in the same locations never had this problem.

Thanks for the feedback. Can you provide more detail regarding the symptoms you're experiencing and the troubleshooting steps you have tried?

Same issue. Wondering if the fact that the angle I have it at catches part of the ceiling of my patio has to do with it because it is clearly bright and it stays in B&W night mode throughout the day until I restart it and then eventually does it again some time throughout the day. I don't even have B&W night vision mode on, I have the spotlight with color on. I've tried updating firmware and it says it is up to date. I've removed camera and readded it to my app/I've done multiple resyncs. 🤷🏽. It's annoying because everything is blown out in b&w mode. Also, I would like it to record color in case anything happens, I have a good description.
