I can't get a straight answer and Arlo doesn't offer PHONE help anymore so I'm asking the community to speak up, please. Can the Pro 5S be hardwired? In our 70's and we try to stay off ladders.

If you have a subscription you can get phone support using the support center in the app.
I've placed my own cameras within reach - some need a stepstool, but none are high enough to need a ladder.
The Pro 5s camera can be hard wired - Arlo sells an outdoor charger for it:
Although Arlo calls it a "cable", the power adapter is fully integrated (the cable does not detach from the adapter).
You can find third-party options that do separate from the adapter. I don't have any recommendations there, as I haven't used them. But if you are needing to pull the cable through a wall, they might be worth a look, as the hole needed might be smaller. They also might be a more suitable length.
Another option is to get the XL upgrade kit, perhaps combined with the solar panel.

I use that combination on one of my Ultras. I still do need to charge the camera sometimes (of course this depends on the amount of light reaching the panel). Note you can't use the magnetic mount with the XL. The screw mounts will still work.

Thank you for replying and your advice. We have an older version of Arlo, 5 cameras all hardwired. I can't afford to buy one 50 dollar wire. I guess I'll be returning these and look for something that is more compatible with our age. Thanks so much.

You can find third party ones on Amazon for about $15. Again, I haven't used them, just pointing out that there are cheaper alternatives.

I am guessing that you probably are using the free 7-day cloud storage. If that is the case, you will also need an Arlo Secure subscription to get cloud video storage.
