I'm considering keeping an old iPhone in our barn as a wireless hotspot for the Arlo camera. Will this work with Arlo Pro 5S or might I instead need the Arlo 2 Go with its dedicated LTE connection?

I'm also wondering if I'd get enough extra Wi-Fi range with the base station to reach the barn (approx 200 ft thru an exterior wall of the house)?

Thanks for help!

Likely not.  If the base is near the router, you can get some idea of the wifi quality by testing the upload speed at the camera location with your phone.  Use the free Ookla app, and test with the phone connected to your home wifi and with mobile data service turned off.

Not something I've tried.  One aspect is that the mobile data plan for the phone might apply a data cap to the hotspot.
