I have six pro 5 cameras that are outside and connected to a base station.  The battery on one camera drains quickly.  It was fully charged to 100% about 20 hours ago and is now down to 85%.  There has been no motion detected and no recordings.  There are no zones set up.  The temperature is 59 degrees so not reason for this camera to have the battery running down.  All five of my other pro 5 cameras at this location are at 99 or 100%.

Has anyone had this issue and how did you resolve?  This camera has been up about 5 months and this extreme draining has been a recent thing….

Try fully charging the camera that has the issue and swap it's location with one of the cameras that is behaving as expected to see if the battery drain occurs with a different camera. This will help isolate the issue to the cameras location or the camera itself.

It’s 10-12 feet from two other pro 5 cameras.  Those other two cameras stay charged.  It also took almost 4 hours to charge the camera from 70% to 100% yesterday.  I believe it is an issue with the battery.  I am not able to swap the battery right now.  These cameras were purchased from Arlo.  I would say this camera has had issues with the battery running down quicker than the other cameras but has just gotten really bad in the last week.  (It did get cold in the last week but other cameras aren't being drained)

Even a small difference in location could result in interference or some other anomaly at that location that causes an unexpected behavior with the battery life. The test described above will help isolate the issue to the location or the camera. If you're still experiencing unexpected battery drain after completing the test above, I encourage you to reach out to the Arlo Support team within the Arlo App under Settings > Support to open a ticket and further investigate the issue.

James,

I have figured out the issue.  After the battery drained when I wrote this post I charged the camera and it stayed at 98-99%.  The temperature has been well above freezing ….in the 70’s during the day.  Then on Tuesday (Nov 7th) I charged all 6 of the pro 5 cameras to 100% because it was going to get below 32° last night.  So this morning  it’s 32° and all cameras are at 99% except this problem camera where the battery is 89%.  So it’s clear to me that this is a battery issue.  This started about 2 weeks ago when there was about 48 hours below 32° and this is when this battery took a dive when all other cameras where fine.

So what is the warranty on the battery?  I bought these cameras from Arlo back in March.  Can I get a new battery from Arlo to replace this on?  I have some new pro 4 cameras that are inside…..can the battery from pro 4 be used in pro 5 camera?  All my pro 5 cameras are outside where it’s going to be cold this winter and this one camera is going to continue to have draining issue because the battery doesn’t function properly in the cold

I am curious if this was covered by warranty as I have 3 Pro 5S cameras taht JUST started doing this yesterday- one went from 98% to 2% overnight and one from 75% to 3% with little to no activations. Did Arlo replace these on warranty?

Should be a warranty issue.  I haven’t contacted Arlo yet.  If they won’t replace I’m going to just swap the battery on one of my inside cameras where it doesnt go below 35 degrees.  Mine does fine during the day and if it’s above 40 it hold a charge.  I’ve just been recharging it every day.  It’s wired to power and is in a smart plug.

Your is Sue that started yesterday may be another issue going on with Arlo and pro 5 cameras with not being able to do a live view and the battery drops quickly from 100-50% or less in 24 hrs.  This is where camera is connected to wifi.  Isn’t happening if connected to base station.  See my new post I did about 4 hours ago
