According to this page on the Arlo Support website, Arlo Pro 5S cameras will use pixel based motion detection when connected to a power adapter.
I have my camera connected to the official outdoor power adapter with the battery fully charged, and it is not switching to pixel based motion. Any ideas on why this is?

You may not immediately notice a difference in behavior beyond the camera showing connected to a power adapter, there is no indication in the UI that the type of motion detection has changed. What are you experiencing that leads you to believe pixel detection is not active?

I have the camera facing through a window to the outside. It is not detecting any motion whatsoever, so this is what makes me think the camera is stuck in PIR mode.
I took it from this page that motion detection through glass works when connected to an outdoor charger with the battery fully charged.

rholdcroft,
After discussing the symptoms you've described with the team internally, it appears your camera periodically shows the charging cable as disconnected. Is there anything special about the outlet you have the camera connected to? Is it controlled by a switch or a timer?

No, this is not the case. My Pro 5S camera can be plugged in for hours and it will not kick into pixel based motion detection. I know this because I have the camera looking out a window and no events record. Please can I have someone assist me with this?
