I have the most updated app and cameras. The new app has the Arm Away, Arm Home and Standby "Modes".

Is there are way to create a 4th mode? I'd like to be able to customize my modes a little more.

I am experiencing a frustrating issue with my Arlo system’s automations and mode switching. Here’s the problem:

    1. I want my driveway cameras to activate the siren only when motion is detected between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
    2. However, when I create an automation for this time frame, the siren immediately activates at 1:00 AM instead of waiting for motion detection.
    3. The only way I can make the siren work only when motion is detected is by setting up a mode where motion triggers the siren.
    4. However, I only have three mode options (Arm Away, Arm Home, and Standby), and I need more flexibility.

One of several scenerios where three modes isn't enough.

Arlo has said that they will add back custom modes or equivalent, but they haven't said when.   Hopefully that will be soon.

We’ve heard your feedback, and the development team is working hard to deliver a similar custom modes experience that legacy users have come to enjoy while maintaining all the new improvements and features included in the latest version of the Arlo Secure App. We will keep the community up to date as we approach the release of this highly anticipated feature.

Thank you all for your continued feedback in helping make the Arlo experience the best it can be!

The new app is awful. We had a list of custom modes that we toggled between depending on whether the kids were playing in the garden or someone was working out front etc. We update to the new app and they are all gone and we can’t re-add them! I don’t know what they were thinking, this was such important functionality for us.

Really frustrated.

Welcome to the hundreds who have complained for over a year.  No fix in sight…just work on it.

Folks who work for Arlo,

What the are you doing? I have 10 cameras and have used Arlo for years. I pay for Arlo Secure Plus. Overnight you "upgraded" the app to the new version and completely broke my set up. I have custom modes and these no longer work. I rely on this system as part of my home security.

Again, what are you doing? You literally took a customer who has spent a lot of money with you and is a subscriber and decided to just completely break his set up.

And when I go into the web app and look at my Custom Modes I see the following message:

"You can access Custom Modes for eligible devices here. We're continuing to improve the Custom Modes experience, so be sure to check back for future updates."

This is disingenuous. You literally took functionality and broke it. Do you hate your customers or something? Why would you without warning literally BREAK SOMEONE'S HOME SECURITY SYSTEM? Why?

I can assure you that the staff on here are very attentive and very helpful.

If you can't access custom modes, it may be that your account is not enabled to access them yet.

@ShayneS might be able to help you.

That's great but I have no idea why Arlo would ship an update that breaks Custom Modes.

same thing happened to me all these changes completely screwed up my service not to mention being overcharged every month. I have ring cameras as a back up, so I’m basically paying two different camera service providers when I was happy with one but all this ridiculousness lately forcing me to look elsewhere
