So I have 3 cameras that have sirens.  But I can’t activate them individually.  When I try to set off the alarm, only the base stations works.  Why is this?

Hi mate, the point is it worked for years and now the app is broken and no one wants to own it.

it actually glitches when you click the siren button and takes to you to another screen to only activate the base station. And that’s if you have a base station with built in siren.

Yeah.  I’m just pissing in the wind hoping Arlo gets their act together.  Even an Arlo moderator made a comment but if the person had followed the discussion he would have know that his statement didn’t answer the problem.
I’m so tired of no action from Arlo.  The app is a disaster and severely flawed from a design perspective.  Yet they are pushing it on their customers.  I’ll just gradually replace my entire system over the next year with another reliable product!

I have passed this information onto our development team. I will update the community as soon as possible.

Really? I’ll be flabbergasted if they address the issue. Appreciate the fact that you agree this is a problem.  Now we’ll see how development addresses a customer issue.

Thanks for giving us hope.

Your Base Stations have built-in sirens so when you try to manually activate the siren for individual cameras, the primary device that will activate the siren would be the Base Station. If you  don't want the Base Station to sound, you can un-check the VMB4000 or the VMB4500 from the Siren Settings in the Location so that individual cameras will go off once alarm is activated.

Under the siren section, I have the base and all siren capable devices checked.  Yet when I active the emergency, only the base sounds the alarm.  Why not the other devices?  What does unchecking the base have to do with the other sirens not being activated?  If I truly have an emergency then I want all devices to sound the alarm, including the base. Or I could modify the siren section to enable the ones I want activated along with the base.

I’m confused by your suggestion and would appreciate clarification.

If I am live streaming just one siren capable device, why does the emergency icon take me to the emergency section?  Why not just stay on the live streaming view when the emergency icon is pressed?  I would want to watch the live streaming view when the siren is activated.  Otherwise I would have to go edit the siren section, select/

deselect devices and then re-enter emergency mode to activate.  That would require excessive time to respond to a particular event.  Keep me on the live streaming view and sound that cameras siren…simple.

Sounding the siren is only one aspect of the emergency response (and IMO is the least important).

That said, it is the only aspect that doesn't require a premium subscription.

I have had the same issue since September 2024, and the Team at arlo can not seem to figure out the issue and it has been over 6 months.

I'm experiencing the same issue—I'm unable to manually activate the sirens via the app, which was possible before September. It's been over 8 months without a solution, and I feel like I'm going in circles. I'm now exploring other legal options because I originally chose ALRO for the siren feature that could be manually triggered. Since that’s no longer available, I've given them more than 8 months to resolve the problem, and enough is enough. I'm also paying for a subscription, which feels like a waste under these circumstances.

Yeah I know,

no one from Arlo wants to admit the Developers broke the app on an update.

I could trigger siren at the camera LIVE and watch the reaction of the individual…

why would I want to alarm the base station in my house when the potential intruder is 50meters away Outside? They wouldn’t even know!

it actually glitches to the emergency screen to only activate the base station.

then Arlo team will reply here saying your doing it wrong.  No one uses the app more then the customer does!!!!

I have contacted Eufy via email to inquire if their wireless cameras are compatible with Arlo brackets. I want to avoid re-drilling holes if possible. If they are compatible, I plan to return all of my Arlo cameras—about a dozen or so—and switch to Eufy.

I've sent a screenshot, and after that, I provided logs from the Arlo app. It's funny—every time they come up with a "fix," it doesn't actually work, and then they ask for the same information all over again. and back to square 1.

Thanks everyone for adding their thoughts to this issue.  Appears the frustration level amongst all of us with this new app only gets worse as each month passes.  Our feeble attempts to work issues with Arlo appears futile in many ways.  Personally I’ve opened half a dozen problems all of which are either “working on it” or just ignored. We get updates weekly on the app with bug and performance fixes…big deal!  Never restoring lost functionality.

Maybe it’s time to write the CEO of Arlo to make him aware of the situation.  In my eyes it’s too late to retain my loyalty to the product.  I’m also replacing all cameras next year with a competitor.  I was happy with Arlo till they came out with a worthless app replacement.  Then the lack of professional support defeated my trust in the company.

I wish everyone the best in finding a reliable security system. Again, thanks for speaking out.

Hi,

I’m unable to activate the siren manually on all of my Pro 4 devices. No siren icon visible. If I press the shield icon in the top right of the screen nothing happens. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Regards

Mike.
