CVR results in poor or no video for non-CVR cameras

I have eight Arlo cameras at home, six of which are Pro 5S 2K and the others are an Essential Spotlight and a Pro 2.
Originally all eight of these cameras were connected to my VMB4000r3 hub. Everything worked just fine.
Last weekend I subscribed to the 14-day CVR plan and added two of the cameras to that subscription. As soon as I did that I started to have problems with the non-CVR cameras where I'd see either poor video quality (artefacts, part of the image missing), static images, or just audio.
I have moved some of the non-CVR cameras off the hub and onto wireless connectivity. They now function as expected. I'm probably going to have to do the same with the other cameras to ensure that any video is correctly captured and recorded.
Has anyone else seen this and is there a workaround other than to move from hub to wireless?

@Geordie405: Replacing the base might not be enough, but adding a smarthub and moving the non-CVR cameras to it would work. The only reason to consider that is that you could have local storage for the cameras connected to the smarthub.

That strikes me as saturation of the connection issue. Adding CVR requires that the cameras stream all the time and having it on 2 cameras doubles that bandwidth. The base can handle many cameras, as you've seen, but then trying to use CVR as well as recording on others could overwhelm the base. It's possible, but not guaranteed, that a SmartHub could provide a solution but it seems like you found the low-cost one by connecting cameras to your WiFi instead, spreading the bandwidth between 2 device (your base and the router). I should ask what your upload speed is from your ISP since that could provide issues, too.

Thanks both for your suggestions. I will see how things go with the WiFi solution although initial indications suggest that battery life isn't as good. I have fiber here so it's nominally 1 Gbps both ways although the reality is usually around 900 Mbps.

Obviously more than enough bandwidth. I agree with @jguerdat's assessment that the base can't up with the load.
