Is it best to connect Arlo Pro 5S 2K outside camera directly to 5gMZ network, or better with a base connection?

If you won't get a subscription (or want local storage in addition to a subscription), then you need to connect to a VMB4540 or VMB5000 smarthub.

If you don't care about local storage, then the best option depends on the strength of the wifi signal you can get at the location.  If the smarthub is adjacent to your router, then it doesn't matter.  If you are using a mesh network, then likely the mesh network will give the best wifi connection.
