Weird problem

I’m setting up two Arlo Pro 4 cameras.  When configured standalone (without base station) they associate to my wifi access point perfectly and I can access them with the app on my ipad.  However, when I configure these same cameras to use the base station, wifi connectivity drops to almost zero…in fact the mac addresses of the two cameras are no longer listed in the wifi AP’s MAC table.

The wifi access point and camera’s have not moved.  Looking for guidance…

OK, I’m an idiot.  After some reading I now realize that the camera associate directly to the base station directly and not to the wifi access points.  Explains the week signal as the base station is tucked away in a wiring closet.

Followup question. Can this behaviour be changed?  I’d like to have cameras connect to the wifi access points and then associate to the base station over ethernet.

Unfortunately, no.

It would be nice, as it would give better signal if you have a mesh (or APs).
