In a post from 2020, an Arlo Community Manager said, "VMB4540 is ZWave, Zigbee, and ArloRF™ ready, the same as VMB5000," implying that both base stations support ZWave. Does anyone know what this means? What type of support is included? Can these base stations communicate with popular home automation hubs that support ZWave?

It just means that the hardware includes a zwave radio. But Arlo never did anything with it, so it can't communicate to home automation systems using zwave.

Thanks for your response, @StephenB. So, basically, this means that the ZWave radio in these base stations is useless?

Correct.
