Recently we were on vacation. Since you can only mute notifications for a max of 24 hours, we turned off Smart Notifications so we wouldn't be bombarded with alerts. Apparently that stopped the recordings as well, which we discovered when our cat went missing and we went to check the recordings.

Searching the forum, it appears this has been a known issue for MONTHS. I'm feeling very frustrated right now. I can't help but think that if our cameras had worked the way they should, maybe we would have been able to find our cat. At this point, I'm considering switching cameras. It seems my only options are to either get dozens of notifications every single day or to not have recordings.

You can adjust the modes to keep recording and not send a notification. For example you can set the Mode for arm away, within the settings you can add actions for motion detection as well as audio detection and then make sure the send notification is turned off. That way you would still get recordings without getting the notifications to go with them.

I have used the Mode for arm away before, but I still need to receive people notifications (have an elderly relative and need to ensure they haven't fallen). With arm away, it seems like it's all or nothing.

You can modify what the rule for each camera does.

For instance, you can set up Arm Away to both notify and record for all cameras, and set up Arm Home to record without notifying.

Plus and Premium will record (and classify) even if smart detection is off.  Not sure about Basic (it's not offered in the US, and I've seen some conflicting posts here on how it is supposed to work).
