I started off with Arlo baby over 9 years ago. It would record for free and maintain recordings for 7 days. Once I got the set of doorbell and indoor cameras this a few months ago, it no longer does that. It really is upsetting that I need to purchase an additional hub to get what I originally had just because I bought and added more cameras to the household. Is there another way to record temporarily?

Arlo stopped offering free 7-day cloud storage for new camera models 5 years ago. All the currently sold cameras require a subscription to get any cloud storage.
Note that the 7-day free cloud storage for the Arlo Baby camera has always been limited to accounts with 5 or fewer unsubscribed cameras. Did your new cameras+doorbells take you over that limit?

If you are over the 5 unsubscribed camera limit, then one option is to create a second Arlo account, and move the Baby into that account. Then share it with the "friend" account feature, so you can see all the cameras from either account.
A simpler option is to just get a subscription. If you only want recordings for the Arlo Baby, then you could get a single-camera Arlo Secure subscription. If you want cloud recordings for all the cameras, then the unlimited Arlo Secure subscription is what you would need.
BTW, getting a hub won't bring back recordings for your Arlo Baby. It only connects to your home wifi, so there is no way to get local storage for it.
