I have three Arlo Pro 4 cameras connected to a Smart Hub  at present and am considering purchasing 3 Arlo floodlights in addition.  Evidently these can be connected to wifi instead of the Hub, but which is best?  Will there be any difference to the way they appear on my phone app or will my phone app show all six cameras?

The phone will show all six cameras

The main benefit of a smarthub is that it provides the option of local storage.  The wifi from the base is tuned to improve camera power use, so the cameras often run a bit longer between charges with a smarthub.

The disadvantage of the smarthub is that the range cannot be extended - if it's too far from the camera, you need to purchase a second smarthub.

I'd try connecting the floodlights to the base first, and if you have signal issues, you can re-onboard them to your home wifi.

Actually Pro 4 cameras can also be connected to WiFi.
