Version 6.60 (15731) VMB 4540r3  When this system works, I love it, When it doesn't,,..... FYI, I am not a high tech person. My pro4 system worked beautifully until I removed the camera in July to recharge it. left it plugged in for 24 hours. Never got steady blue light.  Spent hours and days going from troubleshooting page to troubleshooting page. Nothing worked. Finally switched batteries using a battery from a pro4 camera that was never used because of the cost of adding another camera. That didn't work. Bought new charging cord. Bought new battery. Bought a new mesh router. Finally, I switched to a different usb charging cube, and I got a blue light when I plugged in, but no steady blue light. However, the original battery is showing me video from the kitchen where it's plugged in to recharge.  My essential doorbell never stopped working, but the chime 2 did stop working. I finally reset it, and put in the SSID password again, and it's working, but it shows as a separate device from my doorbell. I gave it a separate device name. Should I have given it the same name as my doorbell?

The big problem now is when I go to device settings,  I get a blank page. No list of settings shows for any device including the base station.  I suspect my system is not finding  2.4g. I don't know how to tell my router to put my Arlo on 2.4. I tried creating a guest network which is 2.4, but I'm not sure I want my phone and my iPad on 2.4 and then I wouldn't be able to stream video which defeats the purpose of having the iPad.  I cannot be the only  person in the world with a mesh router. I can't seem to use the guest network for Arlo because I have to give it a time limit. I would have to go back and start all over installing it to a new SSID, right? With a different password? Anyway, please help. I am so frustrated.

My cameras and doorbell work well with my Orbi mesh router.  What brand/model is your mesh?

Not the problem if you are connecting cameras to a VMB4540 smarthub.  The base generates its own (closed) wifi network that only the cameras can join.

Though the chime does need to connect to your home wifi.

I suggest focusing on one problem at a time.  Is the most important issue

  • a Pro 4 camera
  • the doorbell
  • chime?
