How difficult is it to retrieve video from a thumb drive - don't want to pay for cloud storage

If the pro4 camera connects directly to the local wifi you can’t use a thumb drive.
If the camera connects to a VMB4xxx Base station the triggered recordings are saved to the USB storage device if implemented.
If the base is a 4540 you have in app direct access to the USB storage up to 30days, earlier recordings need to be accessed by removal and using a pc to view the files as is required for the other 4xxx Base stations.
If you’re using a 4540 or 5000 hub (storage card) direct app access is via mobile app only. Viewing requires you to download the recordings to your mobile, no thumbnails.
The recordings are not shareable to friend users.
Manual recordings and snapshots cannot be saved to the USB only to the arlo cloud library.
