I face a very strange problem with discovering 2 new Arlo Pro 4 cams.

I am trying to connect them directly to my wifi router (tried 2 routers so far, and also via the mobile App as well as through the web interface).

  • Battery is fully charged
  • The network is in any case 2.4Ghz (and the 5Ghz is disabled)
  • Password is correct.
  • No VPN
  • Changed/Reseted Routers many times

So I go through the steps, the cameras do scan the QR and then the discovery starts.

After 2-3 minutes the blue led stops pulsing (and no other light comes on). The discovery takes some minutes and then fails.

STRANGELY, when I check the router for connected devices, the Arlo is there, it has an IP address, but as said the camera is not shown in the App or in the web interface.

Any ideas?

Try using a PC browser (my.arlo.com) to add the device, instead of using the phone/app.

Can you connect the PC to the router with ethernet?

Tried this but no progress..

Laptop is on ethernet (ONLY), same thing happens, camera blinks 3-4 times when in discovery mode, then led goes off (and a click sound is heard), discovery times out.. ("Discovery Failed - Your device could not be discovered")

But my router shows the camera connected and having an IP address.

Same story also with the other cam..

You've tried resetting the routers - have you also tried resetting the Pro 4?

Not working either...

Finally decided to buy a base station, and now it works
