I really want to get Arlo Pro 4 but the no base station thing worries me? How do you feel about all the processing power housed in each camera?
I don't really want the ultra but I may need to for a base station?

You can connect the Pro 4 to a base station if you like. Compatible ones are here: https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/Arlo-SmartHub-and-Base-Station-Compatibility
The base doesn't provide any processing power for the cameras. It provides a closed wifi system, and the ability to add local storage. There are some features that require the base - in particular, homekit integration, and continuous video recording (which also requires AC power to the camera and a separate subscription).
Also, with a base the modes control all cameras connected to the base. That can make some use cases easier (for instance, disabling or enabling all indoor cameras, while leaving the outdoor cameras armed).
One caveat - base stations can be purchased separately, but are hard to find right now. Likely supply chain issues.

The camera has all the processing power required regardless of how it's connected.
What is the "no base station thing"? Do you mean you can't find one that comes with a hub?
And what "issue got solved"?
