The instructions say that to connect to an Echo Show, the Arlo should be connected to the cloud. Is that a requirement, can I connect to my Echo Show using only WiFi and no cloud?

That is not possible with Arlo - it is designed as a cloud service. But there are services that don't require a subscription.

Are you asking if you need a paid subscription?
The Pro4 is always connected to the Arlo Cloud (either through your base or through your home wifi).

Yes, I think so. I would like to avoid paying for the subscription services if possible. I am new at this and didn't quite understand that there could be free cloud service?
I was hoping that I could keep the system cloud free and leave it as a simple pair of Pro 4 cameras connected to my phone / computer via wifi only.
Sorry, I am a total newbie.
