I have two Arlo Pro 4 cameras which do not record to the base station or cloud. The free trial subscription has run out. My Arlo (now called Arlo Essential) from 6 years ago still records to the cloud. Is this free service available with the Arlo pro 4 too?

The 7days free cloud library entitlement ended in 2018 with the release of the ultra cameras. The legacy camera models retained the feature.

Thanks for your response. Do you know if I can use the local storage on the legacy base to record from the Arlo 4 cameras?

The subscription requirements are for cameras, doorbells to record to the cloud as well as their cloud reliant features.

For in app access to local storage you will need a 4540 or 5000 base station.

The 4000 and 4500 base stations only support USB backup that needs removing to view on a pc.

Just want to add that your older camera is NOT called an Arlo Essential.

An Arlo Essential is totally sealed (has no user-replaceable battery), and requires a subscription for clud storage.
