I believe water had gotten into the camera. Is there anything I can do?

You can try drying it out with the battery out and the door left open. Use the same procedure as for a cell phone. this might take a few days. No guarantees.
Why do you think water has gotten in? Check the o-ring at the front of the camera to ensure it's not damaged/missing. Applying a light coating of dielectric/silicone grease to the o-ring may prove useful.
