Hello, 

 

I am sending this out to future customers. Please read this before you purchase an Arlo product. CONSIDER OTHER CAMERAS.. Arlo Development team has rolled out a new feature where if you want recording to be tagged in your feed to see (e.g. vehicle, person, or animal), you will need to have these notification settings turned on. 

 

You will get a phone notification for endless cars that drive by, your pets in the backyard, etc. Previously you would receive these videos with appropriate tags in your feed (e.g. vehicle, animal, and person) without receiving a phone notification unless you turned them on for a specific event to send to your phone. 

 

Videos now have a  generic label "Motion." These videos range from cars, animals, lights turning on/off, tree leaves blowing, bugs flying by your camera, etc. As you can see this can be much of an annoyance in your feed. 

 

Look for competitors in the Wireless Security Cameras since Arlo has disregarded many customer complaints about the update.

Before you buy be aware that Arlo technical support is non existent.  It sends you down endless rabbit trails until you give up.  Look elsewhere.  I have two homes with a multitude of Arlo cameras and I am going to switch in hopes of finding better technical support.
