reference case 44063141. Changed password online. Used that password to attempt to "install" Arlo pro4 camera "no cameras found". I repeatedly can get to the "chime" but no further. What to do?

I'm not seeing how changing the password is related to installing a camera.

 

Anyway, the "chime" just means that the camera could read the QR code. 

 

Try doing a hardware reset next (opening the camera and holding sync until you see the LED flash amber - about 15 seconds).  Then do "add device" again.  After the chime, take a look at your router's attached device list, and see if you can find the camera there.

 

If the camera IS NOT in the attached device list, then

  • make sure the wifi is set to WPA2 (AES) encryption
  • if there are special characters (for instance accents) in the network name or wifi password, then remove them.
  • make sure the router isn't blacklisting the device (rare, but can happen).

If the camera IS in the attached device list

  • make sure any VPN is turned off on your PC or phone
  • disable 5 ghz wifi in the router (if you can)
  • Try a PC (my.arlo.com) instead of the phone.

StephenB(Guru) thanks very much for your feedback. The password was the problem! And, my ignorance and lack of intuition. App asks for credentials, which put me off immediately. The screen presents the usual “strong password or choose your own”. I always opt for my own. I went in the absolute wrong direction there. The app did not want a new password for the camera, it wanted the password associated with the wifi. Duh. Fixed, all better! Camera works fine. Next challenge is to get the app put on my iPad. My iPhone 7 screen is much too small for the task of monitoring the kids that keep knocking on my door at all hours of the night.
