I worked on this almost exactly two years ago and at that time I was able to come up with a workaround based on an even older post.  https://community.arlo.com/t5/Arlo-Pro-4/Arlo-Pro-4-cameras-unable-to-connect-to-app-on-2-4ghz-wifi/...

I just tried swapping the SSID of one of the cameras to a new 2.4Ghz SSID on the Unifi, and I'm having the exact same issue I had in 2022.  Is there a better method to get this working today?

I also have 3 more of these that I bought in 2022 that I'd like to get set up for the first time, and this is painful since I no longer have the device I used to provide the connectivity last time.

FWIW, I haven't run into this on my Orbi mesh.   The usual issue is getting discovery to work (after the camera successfully connects to the wifi).  It'd be useful to know if that is what you are seeing, or if it is something else.

Did you

  • remove the camera from the account
  • do a hardware reset (open the camera, press sync until the LED flashes amber - about 15 seconds)
  • add the camera back with the phone connected to the same wifi network as the Pro 4?

I never had issues when I was on Orbi, but I guess that was pre-Pro 4.

I hadn't removed the camera from the account because I was using the link in the app to change the wifi network for the camera.  It's at the bottom of the device wifi page, "Change Network."

When that failed repeatedly, I did a hard reset of the camera, and it was able to join on the Unifi, so it looks like joining a new camera is fixed.  No idea why I couldn't change the network and there's no major reason to go that route vs just resetting it.  😉

I also moved my main network back to 2.4 and 5g, and I was able to join the same way. I know that should usually work, but I had issues in the past if the SSID was both 2.4 and 5.
