It appears a video from 4 days ago is missing. Arlo support told me they could not find it(?) even though I have a subscription. Is there a way for me to retrieve it myself?

How do you know it's missing? Is there a possibility that it was deleted by someone, yourself or someone who can also access the videos? If it's been deleted, it can't be recovered. If the camera happens to be connected to a SmartHub, local recordings can be set up which holds all motion recordings and won't be deleted.
