Changed our wi-fi password, now the cameras will not re-connect to the wi-fi now. Tried to enter new password, held the button for 15 sec, light flashed amber, tried to scan QR but will not find cameras. Help.

If you change back to the old password (as a test), will it reconnect?

No, the Netgear router and Orbi devices read connected to 2.4 g. Devices will not connect, say offline. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

FWIW, I keep the same network name (SSID) and password when I change routers.

Can you explain more about what you did?

  • Is this a router upgrade?
  • Did you change both the network name and the password?
  • You mention orbi and a router.  If that is the case, is the orbi running in extender mode?  Is the router wifi turned off?

I am not sure if anything is on extender mode, how would I find this out?

Let's back up a bit.

Is Orbi your only router? Or are you using another Netgear router too?

Should I change the password back to the previous one?

I suggested that before - at that point you said it made no difference.

In the case of Orbi, the default is for it to be a router.  However, you can set it up as an extender.  If you were the one who set up the Orbi, you'd likely remember if you set it up that way.

Do you have another router (not the Orbi) on your home network?

I wanted to ask again about reconnecting to our Netgear router, Orbi wifi extender after changing the password on the Orbi. The cameras will not reconnect to Wi-Fi. Followed steps to reconnect, scanned QR code, searches for a camera, no luck. All three are offline. Is there a solution to this issue that may be suggested?
Thank you.
