I talked with one of the Arlo support person and he didn't know we had 7-day free cloud access. That's the sole reason I purchased Arlo pro 4 in the first place. However, in January 2023, I was informed that it will no longer be available and that you'll have to pay $9.99/camera to view your contents. I'm shocked. If that's how Arlo is going to treat it's current customers, then I am going to stop buying Arlo cameras and will get replacement cameras and no even buy Arlo products for as long as I live. I'm insensed the they've made that decision without giving us any options be besides paying the subscription fee of $9.99 per camera!!

Arlo says it is discontinuing the 7days free cloud storage service at the end of 2023 because the EOL policy dictates that the feature will end for arlo wire-free and arlo pro cameras on April 2023, and the arlo pro2 and the other legacy cameras end at the end of 2023 so no cameras will be needing to use the legacy service so it can be discontinued.

Be aware that arlo is providing the option to existing customers prior to 2023 to use its brand new cloud storage service for a monthly fee, which is obviously indexed since the price increase is already scheduled.

EOL has not been scheduled yet for the pro4 cameras so you should have at lest 12months notice before they go the same way.

Of course, for the pro4 cameras you need a subscription plan for cloud storage anyway after the trial subscription expires.

Arlo stopped providing that with new camera models back in 2018 (starting with the Ultra).  So as @DannyBearAgain pointed out, the Pro 4 never had free cloud storage.

Thanks for the info, StephenB. It's strange that it's still advertised as having free 7-day cloud access. I bought the Arlo pro 4 xl from Costco just last year and I think it's got the 7-day free cloud advertised.

Anyways, even if you look at the arlo pro 4 cameras at Best buy, they'll still advertise that, which is misleading.

Can you provide a link?

I'm seeing this:

The overview section says:

Renewal of an Arlo Secure plan is required to maintain Arlo Secure features, including cloud storage and activity zones.

I guess when you search for the cameras that offer free cloud storage, Arlo cameras still shows up in reviews. I just saw this post here related to the new Arlo policy.  Also, cameras stored in stores still have the free 7-day cloud recording as it's still sitting on the shelves and the unsuspecting buyer would fall into that trap without realizing that he's buying an outdated camera feature that is no longer is supported.
