I currently have the Arlo Pro 4 set up & wanted to know if either of the following cameras are compatable as an add on camera: Essential XL 2nd Gen (item# VMC3052-100NAS) or Essential 2nd Gen (item# VMC 3050-100NAS).

Go into "add device" and see if there is an option to add the 2nd gen cameras. (They aren't supported in all regions, and that is an easy way to check).
Do you currently see "Library" in your app menu? Or do you instead see "Feed" and "Dashboard"?

Good.
If you see "Library" in your app menu, then you should be careful. The new cameras will force your account to be migrated to the "Feed" user interface.
- "Feed" has three built-in modes (Arm Away, Arm Home, and Standby). You can modify these modes, but you cannot add custom modes yet - Arlo says they will roll that out, but it's not clear when that will happen. So if you use custom modes, you will lose them when you add the cameras.
- The combination of geofencing+scheduling doesn't quite work. Again, something Arlo says they are working on.
- If you have currently have a subscription and also have cameras at multiple addresses, then you will need one subscription for each location.
