I have both the Pro 3 4 pack and the Ultra 4 pack, they both have lag from when the notification comes on.
Base and extenders are in place. 1000 Mbps Download / 40 Mbps Upload
Also, tested and from 8 feet away a license plate is barely legible. How can I fix these problems. Thank you

Lag is inherent with a cloud-based system like Arlo. The communication goes from camera to hub to servers and then back to your phone. If Smart is enabled for the camera, extra processing by the servers usually delays the alert until the processing is done. Normally, push notifications happen quickly but not instantaneously.
License plate reading can be an issue due to 1) the extreme wide angle view compounded by 2) the level of compression. Brightness and contrast can also impede the ability to see details. 2k video only goes so far - the size/number of pixels, the angle of view and compression can all work against seeing details. These aren't ID-type cameras which would use a much longer focal length with a much smaller angle of view.
