Voltage tolerance for base station

I’m looking to see if anybody knows the voltage tolerances for the base station LMB 4500 or specifically the 4540? I’m trying to directly wire this to the RV batteries which are wired 12 but my worry is is 13.6 V to much and fry it

Given that the electricity grid has voltage tolerances the base station should still reliably operate but if you want to you can consider installing some 2A power diodes in series with the supply wires to the base station to drop the voltage back to 12vdc. A diode will drop 0.7v across it.

Also considering if you intend to trickle charge the battery this would raise the battery voltage to 14.2vdc.

Yes, the charging parameter set in the solar controller could charge the lithium battery up to 14.4v do you think it could handle 20% volts? I put a voltmeter on it and the factory power cords output is a stable 12.25v

There is no arlo documentation related to the base station voltage tolerance that I have previously researched but for warranty you are meant to use the mains adapter supplied.

 

The most important consideration is that internal electronic components will likely generate more heat and so reduce their life expectancy going forward. 

 

It it would make sense to stick to the 12v operational specification.

 

The question of weather the base can safely operate with the 20% increase in voltage is an unknown, that said others here may have already tried it.
