First of all, all the other recordings you are seeing in the app (and the web browser) are stored in the Arlo Cloud - not the base.  While your base does support local recording, it has no playback functions.  The ONLY way to see local recordings with your base is to eject the USB storage using the app, and then connect the USB storage to a PC.

Legacy cameras like the Pro and Pro 2 cameras were sold with free 7-day cloud storage, so you will see recordings from those cameras.  Arlo stopped doing that for new models back in 2018, and the Pro 3 (like all the newer cameras) requires an Arlo subscription to get cloud storage.

So one option is to get a single camera subscription.  Another option is to purchase a VMB4540 or VMB5000 smarthub, and use direct access to local storage.

There are a lot of limitations with local storage:

  • recordings are only available in the app (not the browser)
  • recordings are only availble from the primary account (not friend accounts)
  • no thumbnails, so you won't see anything until you download the recording to your phone
  • no ability to make manual recordings or take snapshots
  • Remote access requires router setting changes that many find difficult (and whidh do not work with some internet service providers).
