I live very rurally and a hotspot is the only option for fast Internet. I do not need the app showing me what is going on.I certainly don't want to use up my data either. I only want to record. I was told that I had to let it go online to register it or the cameras would not work and that it would have to stay online or the cameras would not work. What? That sounds like nonsense or a way to keep control. I have also read to items about systems crashing after an update. I am not interested in having that hsppen or needing updates.

These are wireless cameras, yes the cams are connected to the Hub on a closed system but the hub needs a constant connection to internet via an ethernet cable. I have seen conflicting information on cams still recording locally to hub via usb if internet goes out but i can't verify that.
