After a factory reset, I have several cameras that are on sensitivity steroids.  I've turned audio and motion down to the lowest setting and they are still giving me motion hits every minute.  What really stinks is the new way I need to eliminate 400 hits.

Does turning audio detection completely off help?

Have you tried swapping the problem cameras with ones that are working ok?  Then see if the problem moves with the camera or if it stays with the location.

I will try switching cameras, but there is obviously a problem with the sensitivity controls.  If both audio and motion are set at their lowest, there should not be any activity.

Understood.

Once you are absolutely certain that the problem is in the camera, then I suggest trying the hardware reset process:

  1. remove the camera from the account
  2. remove the housing and press the button inside until the camera LED flashes amber ( ~15 sec)
  3. add the camera back to the account

Not really true. Setting the detection sensitivity levels to 0 does not turn them off - it just mostly reduces the sensitivity.

Then maybe there was a hardware update that caused more sensitivity?  I did a factory reset because three of my cameras went offline for some reason.  After the reset, one of them started recording motions like crazy, so I turned the sensitivity and audio all the way down and it was still recording every minute.

Try another reset on that camera.
