I have multiple Arlo Pro 3's without a subscription. I've read contradicting articles that say you can only have 5 cameras wo a subscription, but I've also read unlimited. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Legacy cameras (original Arlo WireFree, Pro, and Pro 2) were sold with free 7-day cloud storage. This was (and is) limited to 5 unsubscribed cameras per account. If you have more than that, the 7-day cloud storage stops.
Pro 3's (like all other current cameras) have never had the free cloud storage feature.
If you only have cameras w/o that feature, you can have as many as you want in the account - since there is no free cloud storage to lose.
