Night vision interittently not activating

I have two Arlo Pro 3s. One of them will intermittently not activate night vision, even when the scene is pitch black. The other camera has no issues with this. The only immediate solution I've found is to go into device settings, turn off night vision, and turn it back on.

 

How can this be prevented?

 

Note: Spotlight is always turned off.
