Hello,

I need help configuring my Arlo cameras and automations. I have tried multiple settings myself, but I cannot get it to work the way I want anymore.

Before the latest update, everything worked perfectly. After the update, the behavior changed and I have not been able to restore the old functionality.

This is how I want my system to work:

  • The cameras should always be active between 21:00 and 07:00, even when we are at home.
  • During daytime, the cameras should only be active when nobody is home.
  • During daytime, the cameras should automatically deactivate when we arrive home.
  • At night, the cameras must stay active regardless of whether we are home or away.

I currently have the modes “Home”, “Away”, and “Custom”, but I cannot figure out how to configure them correctly to achieve this behavior.

Could you please guide me step by step on how to set this up properly in the current version of the Arlo app?

I have tried this, but it get stuck at arm away.

  1. Select routines->modes, and make sure that both Arm Home and Arm Away have rules for all your cameras.  Similarly make sure that Standby has no rules
  2. Create a schedule automation to switch the system to "Arm Home" at 21:00.  That mode needs to be enabled in both "Arm Home" and "Standby", but NOT in "Arm Away"
  3. Create a second schedule automation to switch the sytsem to "Standby" at 07:00.  That mode similarly needs to be enabled in both "Arm Home" and "Standby", but NOT in "Arm Away".
  4. Create a geofencing automation that switches the system to "Arm Away" when you leave.  It is ok to enable this in all three modes (but you can also enable it like the first two).
  5. Create a second geofencing automation that switches the system to "Standby" when you return.  This must be enabled only in "Arm Away".

Thank you.

You can't mix "custom modes" with the three built-in modes.  Are you trying to do that?

Also, do you mean the system doesn't switch to Standby when you return (but it does switch to Arm Away when you leave)?  Or something else?

Sorry, i dont mix them. I only use the three modes.

Correct. The mode switch to arm away when i leave but do not return till standby when i come home.

Ok.  And the arrive automation is enabled in "Arm Away"?

What phone model are you using (and what OS version)?
