Hello Everyone - just reaching out for some tips to get my 3 cameras working again. So I was directed to update and attempted this process but the cameras would not update or connect to my Wi-fi. I have a dual band 2.4/5ghz modem with band switching - which indicates it should select the 2.4ghz band. All was working relatively well before the update message - even though I'd get a few signal drop outs occasionally. The cameras would eventually connect. I've tried rebooting the cameras, fully charging them and even removed one. Now I only have 2 cameras showing in my account. Any help would be welcome before I spit the dummy, try and sell the system, cancel my Arlo account and go for another product. My wi-fi signals are strong and should connect to the cameras. Please help - much appreciated.

These are connecting to your home wifi? Not to a smarthub?
Have you tried on-boarding from a PC browser (my.arlo.com)?

Cheers for the reply - yes - connecting to home wi-fi.
I have been trying to reconnect the system through the arlo website via my computer also.

Ok, You must have the FB1001 floodlight then, since the normal Pro 3 requires a base or smarthub. Is that the case? https://www.arlo.com/en-us/light/arlo-pro-3-floodlight-camera.html
Are you able to turn off the 5 Ghz radio in your router? That would be the thing to do first if you haven't already.
Are you reaching the bit where the camera wants to scan the QR code? If so, are you hearing the chime when it does that?

Ok - interesting tests tonight (Australia). I use a Telstra Gen 2 dual band wi-fi and the 2ghz channel does not help my connectivity issues with the cameras. So I connect to the Guest 2Ghz channel and then this happens:
- can add a camera after deleting all cameras
- during the camera add process I get the chime after the QR code comes on
- next step when the test live stream comes up partially worked and showed either a strong signal and picture or no connectivity
It may be a modem issue I'm having and/or a diminished/interrupted signal weakening/interfering with the wi-fi. I've had a techie out and the signal into the premises is good so maybe a modem issue. I removed all cameras and installed only one so there would plenty of capability in terms of upload speeds for the camera signal. This did not work either. I reckon the dual band wi-fi is causing the cameras to drop out and not be able to reconnect. That would explain my original problem but these tests I ran tonight are still showing connectivity issues. But I'm a step further on than yesterday.

It shouldn't. The cameras have no 5 gHz radio, so they can't tell if there is a 5 gHz signal or not.

Righto got that. Well guess what - I managed to connect & update one of my cameras tonight and I did nothing at all but follow the steps like I originally did. Are there tech gremlins out there that resolved themselves? Who knows - I'm not a tech nuff- nuff (idiot) or a wizard either but maybe wireless signal interference issues subsided. By the way the camera is showing 100% signal strength! Go figure - I'll try and add another one later - pushing my luck for sure. Cheers for the help.

Back again. Another update prompt so I went through the process of enabling the update and failed. This happened last time and then the cameras were not recognised or could not connect to the wireless. I removed all cameras again and have gone through the process of adding a camera. Get the stage after the camera reads the QR code from the screen and get the beep. The next step is for the camera to connect to be detected by the wireless and added. This is when it fails. I'll keep trying but any tips please let me know. Wi-Fi signal is excellent - my attitude is not. I also hit the reset button on the camera – press and hold for about 10 sec then it goes orange. Hold another 10secs and it starts blinking blue to do the QR code recognition read. I still get the chime at this stage but no recognition when searched for.
