Has anyone been able to get the activity zone to work?  I have a camera pointed to my driveway and I would like to exclude the street from my zone to reduce the videos. I adjusted the activity Zone to exclude the street but it doesn’t work. I have tried this on a couple of cameras now. Any suggestions on to get this to work?  Thanks!

That should be working (though I currently don't need activity zones on my own Pro 3s).

Have you tried testing this by positioning the cameras in a test area, and then walking in the excluded area to check exactly where then motion sensors pick you up?  The motion detection test won't work for this, as that will trigger whenever motion is detected.  You need to look for notifications or recordings.

One aspect - I've found that emergency vehicles will still trigger the cameras at night, because the flashing lights end up illuminating my activity zones.  Sometimes headlight glare for other vehicles can also do this.

Also, keep in mind that the camera might not be triggering on the street traffic.  Wind can sometimes do it, and often you won't see any sign of that in the recording.

Does this happen at night or just the day? The sun's IR can reflect off cars out of zone making it seem like they should be recorded. Rotating your cameras down in a way to exclude the street could also prove useful.

It happens all day. I could rotate the cameras but that makes me think the activity zones just do not work as intended. If that is the case then so be it but it certainly would be a nice feature if it worked.

I have not tested them other than to have them adjusted to not include the road and that does not work. They seem to pick up the whole street with cars going either way. It is definitely the cars that are triggering the motion and the notifications. Unfortunately I just don’t think the activity zones work.

I am curious to know whether anyone has gotten them to work.

thanks

Do you have auto zoom and tracking enabled?

I did not. I have now enabled it so let’s see how it works. Thank you very much for the suggestion!  I noted that when you enable this it says it does not video in 2K but if it cuts down on the motions that will be great. Thanks!!

Actually I was thinking it might be the problem.  The feature tracks the moving object, and that makes applying the activity zones complicated.
