You need to pay arlo to use their cloud platform.
Been this way since 2018.
Having access to arlo live customer support ended in 2020 for out of warranty products.
For those using out of warranty products and have nil subscription plan, the only option is to ask other customers if they have the same issues and how they were resolved.

I bought an Eufy floodlight camera yesterday, the base station can allow 16 camera connection, and local recording
also has zones, face recognition, many other option and no charge at all. Seems a better way to go, I intend to replace the whole arlo system a few cameras at a time.

I’m located in NZ, wonderful service at this stage, very helpful when I called them, installed the new camera today, had no problems with the app, I intend to get a couple more next week and slowly fade out my Arlo ones, it’s not a lot of money to use Arlo cloud, but I paid a lot of money and I store locally so Eufy makes better sense to me.

Arlo has introduced direct view access for local triggered recordings if you had purchased a VMB4540 or 5000 base.
Not aware of how well it stacks up against the eufy systems.
