I have a Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight connected to the Arlo solar panel (VMA5600).  It shows charging up to the 100% level every time it's sufficiently sunny and so I'm concerned about battery lifespan because of daily topping off.

Is there way to limit battery charging for the floodlight, like my 2K doorbell camera does, stopping at around 80%?

No. However, in the past 100% really meant ~80% - you had to use the external charging station to actually get the true 100%. I'm not at all sure that's still true. @JamesC , @ShayneS , @BrookeN can you pass this on to engineering to see what they may say?

It actually should charge to 100% that is the expected behavior.

Ran a test.  Let it charge all the way up as far as it could (99%) then pulled the battery.  It reads 4.11V on a multimeter, and putting it into the dual battery charging dock, the light only stays orange for a few seconds before it turns green.

This is pretty frustrating having to fiddle with plugging and unplugging the solar panel, since leaving it plugged in means it'll wear out the battery really quickly with these short charging cycles from nearly full every day there's sufficient sunlight.

It doesn't necessarily mean that and I haven't seen it with my own cameras.  Some (including my own Pro 3 Floodlight) were AC powered for some years.  I've connected Ultra XL to a solar panel for a very long time, and there are no issues with its battery.

Since you have the charging station, the alternative is to get a second XL battery, and just swap them as needed (not using the panel).
