Floodlight will not stop detecting my grill as a Person. I even set custom activity zones completely avoiding the grill. This is draining my battery and blowing up my feed.

FYI, activity zones do not increase battery life. The camera streams every time it detects motion. The activity zone processing is done in the Arlo Cloud - if the only motion is outside the activity zone, the recording and notification is supposed to be supressed. So the camera itself behaves the same way whether you have activity zones set up or not.
I suggest removing both zones 2 and 3 as a test - looking to see if the the flood of notifications then stops. If it does, then add back the zones one at a time, so you can see which area in the field of view is triggering the flood.
I also suggest calibrating the motion sensitivity. Walk around in the field of view (within 25 feet of the camera) while running the motion detection test, and find the lowest threshold that detects you reliably. Set the actual motion threshold to slightly above that value.

My koi pond filter frequently gets identified as a person, too. You can donate the videos (use the menu while viewing a video) to try to help the team fine tune the identifications.

Zones won't eliminate recordings - they will just eliminate notifications and may delete the video. Even though the grill is dull black, it's possible the sun's IR is being reflected, causing the false triggers. Reducing sensitivity is a valid strategy but test to ensure you still get the coverage you need.
