I am looking for some advice on the best camera to use for monitoring street activity in front of my house.
I want to not only dissuade people from breaking into my car or vandalizing my property but also capture them on camera.
There is about 30 ft. to the street from the front of my house.
There is some street lighting.

The only cameras that come close to what you want to do are the Q/Q+ cameras and/or the Essential Indoor camera.
Reason is all the others use PIR devices to detect motion AND theat range is limited to a max of 25 ft.... the above cameras use actual pixel change to detect motion ( changes in what the camera sees ).
Downside is the listed cameras are indoor only and need ac power ( Q plus uses POE )
I use a Q cam thru an Andersen double pane window and it detects cars in the road 75 ft away. It also allows the 3 second lookback feature to function.
Also, just so you know, it will prob not get ID type pics of people as it is 1080p ( if out in street ) and at distance you'll never get that type of pic ( nor car plates if that's what you need )
