Floodlight new feature request

It would be great to have video recorded to cover activity automatically as per the default settings but also set the floodlight timer independently. So if there is 10s of activity then you get a 10s clip but you can leave the floodlight on for more if required. I can see that many people think this is how it works and have to enable longer recordings to achieve this.  Any chance of just making this work how it should?
