I have just started in the last few weeks noticing that one of my cameras is constantly giving false motion detection alerts. I check the video and there is nothing on them. Just now I was watching one of the cameras live and I got a motion alert. There was no motion.

Help.

Jeff

Remember that motion detection is based on IR, not visible light. A frequent issue is the sun's strong IR reflecting off some surface. Many of us use lower motion sensitivity settings in our modes and rules during the day due to this. You would need to test to see what level works for you while still getting what you need. I've used as low as 25.  Camera positioning can also help by eliminating the street, trees, etc. from view.

Thanks for the response.

I do have a white vinyl security fence that faces it, and it does reflect a lot of sunlight. I'll look into that. Maybe fool with the sensitivity.

Thanks again,

Jeff
