Can anyone advise why I now see a continuous blue light on my camera. The battery also seems to be losing charge faster than normal.

Solid blue typically means the camera is connected to power and the battery is 100% charged. However, this plus losing charge more quickly would lead me to remove and reconnect the camera to reset it. If still the same thing, swap at the store or use Settings, Support for a possibly faulty camera.
