I have the Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Cam and am still in the Arlo Smart three month trial period. I've had issues with floodlight only staying on for less than 30 seconds, regardless of motion continuing. Arlo support had me remove camera, re-add and sync, so we'll see.

Now, it's detecting vehicles even tho I only have people and animal detection checked. Motion sensitivity is at 67% and vehicles on the road are 40 feet away or so and in the gray area when I use camera positioning. Video mode is also set to standard, which should put vehicles out of range. Any suggestions?

A little confusion here, as the video mode has nothing to do wih the range of the motion detection.

I've found that some of my cameras will detect vehicles from a surprising distance (at least some of the time) - well over 100 feet.  This happens particularly after dark.  I think this is because some vehicles have a lot of infrared coming from them.

The smart notifications only filter notifications - they do not affect recordings.  Several folks have noticed that they are getting notifications after they turn off a category - Arlo is investigating that.

One thing you could try is activity zones.  They won't affect battery life, but they can reduce unwanted notifications and recordings.  You could also try aiming the camera more downwards if you can.
