I currently have an Arlo Pro 2 mounted on my second floor deck and a battery-powered motion floodlight above the garage door, both to cover the driveway for recording and light. My original plan was to replace both with a powered Ring Floodlight camera, but that requires having someone out to run power to the location (I’m not happy with the Ring battery options.)

However, the Arlo Floodlight camera came out while I wasn’t looking. My only two complaints with the Pro 2 are due to the battery power and the angle it has to sit for recording. If I put the Floodlight cam down where the current motion light is, and run the 25ft power cord, this solves both problems.

The Arlo is the same cost as the Ring, and $50 for the cord (plus a bit more for an extension cord inside the garage) is a lot less than hiring an electrician to run power.
