arlo pro 2 camera is continuously plugged in, but still shows battery needs charging

I have some Arlo Pro 2 cameras installed outside.  I decided to purchase loge charging cables so that the cameras could charge continuously.  Two of my cameras show that the battery needs charging even though they are plugged in.

When plugged in properly the battery icon for each camera should have a lightning bolt on it. It appears that the cameras that need charging don't have that. An issue with long cables is the need for larger gauge wires to minimize voltage and current drop over that distance. In addition, depending on the connector design at the camera end, it can be a bear to get the cable properly inserted due to the weather sealing.

 

You need to determine whether it's the camera or the cable/charger that's the problem. Swapping charging equipment around may be the easiest to do. Try plugging the cameras into the Arlo-supplied cable and charger to prove that the camera works properly.
