Hi, where could i purchase another maybe 2 cameras to add to the Arlo Pro 2 that i already have?

Also where would i find the model number to the one i already own?

And lastly, Why wont my cameras which i have indoor  record through a glass window ?

When i come indoor and its dark,  as im viewing the recorded video  it shows nothing until i turn the light on. Its like theres no night vision. Why is that ? Thank you

“where could i purchase another maybe 2 cameras to add to the Arlo Pro 2 that i already have?”

Arlo has discontinued the Arlo Pro and Arlo Pro 2. Currently, the company sells the Pro 3, Pro 3 Floodlight, and Pro 4 etc. (note subscription is required.)

Shop around for old stock if you wish.

“Also where would i find the model number to the one i already own?”

VMC4030P is suggestive.

It is possible that if the camera is faulty. Do you see the night LEDs activate as you enter?

It can take a couple of seconds for Nightvision to kick in, especially if the previous recording didn't use it.

You might want to test this by livestreaming with the lights out, and see if nightvision engages within 3 seconds or so.

To clarify - VMC4030P is the model number for the Pro 2 camera.

Although it's not it's primary purpose, https://kb.arlo.com/000062312/What-options-will-I-have-when-the-Arlo-trial-ends does include model numbers for each camera.  I've included them below (bolding the ones that offer free 7-day cloud recording):

  • Baby (ABC1000)
  • Essential Camera (VMC2020)
  • Essential Spotlight Camera (VMC2030)
  • Essential XL Spotlight Camera (VMC2032)
  • Essential Wired Video Doorbell (AVD1001)
  • Essential Wire-Free Video Doorbell (AVD2001)
  • Go (VML4030)
  • Pro (VMC4030)
  • Pro 2 (VMC4030P)
  • Pro 3 (VMC4041)
  • Pro 3 Floodlight Camera (FB1001)
  • Pro 4 (VMC4050P)
  • Q (VMC3040)
  • Q Plus (VMC3040S)
  • Ultra (VMC5040-100)
  • Ultra 2 (VMC5040-200)
  • Wire-Free (VMC3030)

FWIW, it'd be very useful if Arlo had a KB article on this, along with the hardware identification shown in the device info (which is neither the name nor the model number).  Lots of people do lose track of what cameras they have over time.

They discontinued Arlo Pro 2, well that stinks ! When you say subscription required with the others do you mean I would have to pay to keep my videos in the cloud ? Maybe i will shop in the old stock because it says i can add more cameras to the ones i have. It will be cheaper than buying a new Arlo 3 or 4.  I never thought to see if the night LED"s are lit but i will next time. Thank you for your time. I will check out those threads

StephenB,                                                                                                                                                                                                                         I did livestream at night while i was away from home and all i could see were my cats eyes. I'll try again though. Thank you                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Dannybear                                                                                                                                                                                                                                That answers my subscription question. Thank you for all the info

Further to what billkex has suggested, ensure that the camera you purchase has been removed from the previous owners account else you will not be able to get it working.
This is a anti theft approach from Arlo.

Super helpful - just so I'm absolutely clear.  Any of the bolded cameras can be added to an Arlo Pro2 system and will continue to be part of the free 7-day cloud recording program (assuming you have 5 or fewer camera).

For all the others you'd need to add a subscription plan to continue to have cloud recording . . .

Does the free cloud recording disappear for the existing "qualifying" cameras if you add another, or is it just the non-qualifying cameras that don't get cloud storage?

Correct.

If you add another camera that needs a subscription, you still get the free 7-day cloud storage on the qualifying ones.  You will of course need a single-camera subscription for that new camera.

At some point it's cheaper to get the multicamera subscription for secure/secure plus - then you'd end up with all your cameras in the subscription (since the number of cameras is unlimited).
