What happened to schedule

I’ve had a Arlo system for a few years. Somehow my app updated within the last few weeks without intention and like many I’m having issues.

I have 5 Pro-2 cameras and they were functioning flawlessly until I added a 6th today. Now my schedules are messed up. Oddly after the update I had no issues until I added the camera.

So it appears I need to redo the schedules?

Rather than Arm-Disarm-Schedule I’m trying to have

1: Arm Away- replace “Arm” by activating all cameras and ignoring all automations.

2: Standby- replace “disarm” by deactivating all cameras and ignoring all automations.

3: Arm home- replace “schedule” by turning on all the schedule automations throughout the week when I want cameras on/off.

The first 2 seem to work but when I set Arm home and select to follow all automations it just seems to arm all cameras regardless of what the schedule rule is.

Can you post screen shots of the automations?  Also give us the details of the schedule you want.

Basically you have three modes to work with, so you can create 3 combinations of cameras that can be armed simultaneously.  By default, Arm Away has rules for all cameras, Arm Home has rules for all outdoor models, and standby has no rules (so is the same as disarmed).  But you can modify all three modes.

Then create automations that change the mode at the appropriate times.  The tricky part is enabling those automations in the correct modes.

just to test I set this schedule for everyday of the week, for all modes, all cameras, at all times. So no matter what I chose I figure the system should arm itself at 8pm and disarm itself at 630 am.

Yes, that is what should happen based on your screenshots. Are you seeing something different?

Of course if you manually select a mode from the dashboard, the system will stay in that mode until the next schedule change ( 8 pm or 630 am).

No that is what the system did last night. 

Prior to adding the camera my typical schedule was armed every night from 8 pm to 630 am. Then on Mon-Thur-Fri it would also arm from 730 am to 230 pm. 

I don’t understand how to tell the system to operate this way. It seems like the new app allows the user to program the system to turn cameras on automatically in standby mode which makes zero sense. I don’t see the point of 3 “modes” when  each of them will do the same action.

You can use all 3 modes as you wish, regardless of their names. If nothing else, it helps mask the issue of only 3 modes when custom modes haven't been available. When I converted to the new UI a few years ago, I lost my custom modes so I use Standby as a way to still do that although it takes some manual manipulation to activate only certain cameras at certain times.

In the new UI, you need to set multiple schedules, even if all you want is to Arm at some time and disarm at others. From what you said, create a schedule that uses Arm Away at 8PM. Create a second schedule to use Standby (with nor rules in it) at 6:30AM. Create a 3rd schedule that activates only on the 3 workdays to use Arm Away at 7:30AM with a 4th schedule that uses Standby at 2:30PM.   You need a schedule to start a mode followed by another to stop.
